How does it work?

Directory owners place a link on their 'submission confirmed' page. This link is a dynamic link that, if clicked on, will give your directory a point then redirect to another directory. The directory that receives the traffic 'cashes in' their point. For every user you send away, Directory Exchange will attempt to give you one user back. For more information click here.

What do I need to do to set up my directory?

Once you have registered and your website has been accepted, you will be given a link that looks like: http://www.directoryexchange.net/nextdir.php?id=1. You can either use the code that we provide, or create your own to incorporate this link (and a link back to directoryexchange.net). You will need to be able to add this to your submission confirmation page. We will be working to add tutorials on how to do this for the most common scripts if you are unsure. Will this effect my rankings in the search engines?

Not at all. The link is designed to go on the submission confirmation page, which is not accessible to search engines.

Is there any cost?

No. This service is provided completely free of charge.

How much traffic will I get?

The traffic you get depends on how much you send to other directories. The script automatically attempts a 1:1 ratio. That is, for every one person you send away, you will be supplied with another. Therefore the more traffic you share the more you will get.
